Grand Canyon
After a long drive from Yellowstone you see a sign saying...Welcome to Arizona, more specifically the northwestern part of this beautiful state. This park was set up and established in 1919. It is estimated that this land form about 5-6 million years ago and is still going strong. It gets about 5 million people each year. It is one of the top 5 in the amount of tourists they get from near and far. It is actually having a problem with people taking rocks and other artifacts from the park and it is hurting the park because it is loosing it's rocks. It is not a major problem but is still something the Grand Canyon workers need to be aware of. The two major attractions when you take a trip to the Grand Canyon is the north and south rim. Other activities include hiking, sight seeing, and other activities as well. There are huge walk ways you can go on and take a look over the edge. Not sure about you but that might freak me out a little. A smart time to visit this amazing park is spring or during the early summer. The weather is more enjoyable than in the middle of the summer. There is on site lodging and the next closest hotel outside of the park is 1 1/2 blocks away so you are pretty much covered. Just like the YellowStone National Park, it costs $12 for a 16 year old or older to enter the park. This time it is $25 to get a automobile in.
